Managing Estrogen Dominance – Supplementation

There are a number of supplements, which may assist in managing estrogen dominance. If you haven’t read my other article, Top 10 Tips for Managing Estrogen Dominance’  I suggest taking a read of this first to make sure you have addressed each of the points stated. The following supplements, in no particular order, will give you that little bit of extra help in the management of estrogen dominance.

Calcium D-Glucarate

A fibre that binds to the “bad estrogen molecules” in your gut, thereby helping to remove these xenoestrogens via your intestines.
Eg. Thorne Calcium D-Glucarate

Methylator

Estrogen molecules are missing one methyl group, therefore a methylator completes or ‘chelates’ the molecule. Once the compound has been chelated it can be flushed form the body.
Eg. Thorne Methylguard

DIM (3,3-diindolylmethane)

Improves estrogen metabolism and assists with flushing out estrogenic compounds and xenoestrogens from the body. DIM may also decrease levels of the aromatase enzyme.
Eg Designs for Health DIM

Fibre

Helps with binding xenoestrogens and subsequent elimination from the body.
Eg. Thorne Fibre Mend

Magnesium

Facilitates the complete elimination of estrogen once it has been metabolised and making its way down the 2-hydroxyestrone pathway.
Eg. Trilogy Nutrition GabaMag

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is an aromatase inhibitor.
Eg. Designs for Health Vitamin D Synergy

Probiotic

Important for maintaining a healthy gut, a quality probiotic will provide you with plenty of healthy gut bacteria. Be sure to regularly change your probiotic.
Eg. ATP Labs PB-4
